Teen charged following police car ramming in Craigieburn this morning

Police have charged a learner driver after he allegedly rammed a police vehicle in Craigieburn this morning.

Officers spotted a car with no number plates on Aitken Boulevard about 12.20am and attempted to intercept it.

The vehicle allegedly rammed the police vehicle after officers again attempted to intercept it within the drive-through of a fast food restaurant.

A 17-year-old boy from Roxburgh Park was arrested at the scene.

He has been charged with exposure of police officer to risk by driving, damage to emergency services vehicle by reckless driving, and reckless conduct endangering serious injury.

His car was also impounded at a cost of $939.

A 16-year-old Glenroy girl, who was a passenger, has been released without charge.

No one was injured during the incident.

The teenager will appear at a children’s court.
