Police have arrested six people after spotting two stolen vehicles believed to have been involved in a series of offences across the northern and eastern suburbs.

While patrolling in Reservoir about 1:10am on 7 December, officers spotted a stolen red Mazda SUV and grey Holden sedan believed to have been involved in a spree of earlier offences including a robbery and carjacking.

Police witnessed the cars being driven erratically and after a short pursuit, the Mazda crashed into a garden on Dalton Road in Thomastown.

Three males were arrested at the scene.

The second vehicle continued on but was followed by the Victoria Police Air Wing and ultimately dumped in Dixon Street, Sunshine.
