Police investigate Preston assault last Wednesday night

Police are searching for a man (pictured above) following a serious assault in Preston on Wednesday 27 March around 11.22pm.

It is believed the 32-year-old victim was followed after getting off a Route 86 tram at the intersection of Bell Street and Plenty Road about 11.22pm.

The victim was then walking through a car park when an unknown man began yelling at him before chasing him around the car park.

The unknown man assaulted the victim knocking him unconsciousness before continuing to strike the victim.

The man then appears to taunt the victim as he lies on the ground.

Investigators released images and CCTV footage of a man they believe can assist with enquiries.

The man police wish to speak to is perceived as being aged in his early 30s with a slim build and appears to be balding with short dark hair and a dark beard.

At the time he was wearing a t-shirt with a white motif along the front and knee length cargo shorts. He was carrying a large backpack.
