Police are appealing for public help after a man was assaulted by another man in Thomastown on Thursday.
Investigators have been told the assault took place at the intersection of Edgars Road and Main Street on 8 October about 7:25am.
It is believed the victim, a 42-year-old from Lalor, was driving north along Edgars Road when he stopped at the intersection traffic lights.
The driver of a grey-coloured Toyota or Nissan sedan, possibly a late 90s model, got out of the vehicle and approached the victim’s car.
The unknown offender opened the victim’s driver’s side door and punched him to the left side of his head.
The offender then got back into his vehicle and drove off north along Edgars Road.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The offender is described as being Caucasian, approximately 40-years-old with a solid build, grey short-balding hair, slight stubble on his face and tattoos on his arms and hands.
He was wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt at the time of the incident.
