Croydon North man and woman arrested for drugs and firearms offences

Croydon police charged a man and woman overnight following the seizure of a large sum of money, drugs and a firearm in Croydon North yesterday.


Police investigators initially intercepted a man driving on Boronia Road, Boronia and located a quantity of cannabis just after 2:10pm.

The man was arrested and taken to Croydon Police Station where he gave police permission to search his home.

Police then attended a house on Humber Road in Croydon North where they also arrested a woman.

The search of the property uncovered more than $240,000 in cash as well as quantities of cannabis, cocaine, hashish, ecstasy and heroin with a street value in excess of $130,000.

A vintage collectable firearm valued over $20,000 was also seized.


The 56-year-old Croydon North man was charged with 25 charges including traffick ecstasy, heroin, cocaine and heroin, possess proceeds of crime, prohibited person possess firearm, and commit indictable offences while on bail.

The 61-year-old Croydon North woman was charged with nine charges including traffick methylamphetamine, possess proceeds of crime and commit indictable offences while on bail.

The man and woman were remanded in custody overnight to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday 13 August.

Whilst committing the offences, the 56-year-old man was also found to be in breach of the directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and was issued a $1652 penalty notice.
