Two Kinglake men arrested at Royal Cres property for cannabis cultivation

Two men were arrested early last Thursday morning (24 September) following the execution of a search warrant at a Royal Crescent, Kinglake property, The North Central Review reported.

Seymour police located 167 cannabis plants on the premises before arresting a 28-year-old male and a 47-year old male.

Both men were taken into custody by the Seymour Divsisional Tasking Unit and were remanded by Seymour Magistrates Court to attend a filing hearing in Melbourne.

It is unclear whether the men have been released from custody and Victoria Police would provide no further details as “the matter is before the court,” a police spokesperson told Kinglake Ranges News.

Sergeant Bob Derrett from the Seymour Divisional Tasking Unit said the rural location allowed police to conduct surveillance and establish when the offenders were likely to attend the address.

“Both males were charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis,” Sgt Derrett said.

“Police are further investigating to try and establish as to whether or not these males are linked to other cannabis crop houses that have been located in the [Kinglake Ranges] area of late.”

Whilst the indentity of the two men is known, Kinglake Ranges News will not be publishing their names to allow for a fair trial.
