Tonight (Friday, August 25) the Firefoxes group will host a ‘Comedy Date Night’ at Lawson’s Restaurant at the Kinglake Pub from 6pm.
Featuring Western Australia’s globally acclaimed comedian, speaker, author and director Nelly Thomas performing.
Nelly is the winner of Triple J’s National Raw Comedy competition, a Jean Hailes for Womens’ Health Official Ambassador (2016), a columnist, activist and regularly heard on ABC radio.
Comedian Christine Basil will host the evening.
Firefoxes was formed by local women following the Black Saturday bushfires as a means of socializing, sharing ideas and discussing issues, particularly those affecting local women following the 2009 bushfires.
Whilst the group is female focused, Firefoxes welcomes everyone to their functions.
Firefoxes hold monthly functions on the last Friday of the month throughout the year at various locations throughout Murrindindi Shire.
