Ballarat man charged following shooting incident


Detectives have laid charges after a 39-year-old Ballarat man presented to hospital with non-life-threatening puncture wounds to his buttocks and lower back on 18 July.

Police allege the injuries were caused by an air rifle during a dispute after executing a search warrant at a Drummond Street, Ballarat residence yesterday.

A 37-year-old Ballarat man was arrested and subsequently charged with intentionally causing injury and possessing ammunition.

He has been remanded to face Ballarat Magistrates Court this morning.
