Corio men charged with making explosives

Geelong detectives have charged two men following the execution of an arrest warrant in Corio yesterday.

A 53-year-old Corio man has been charged with possessing a firearm, possess cartridge ammunition, possess explosive substance, manufacturing explosives, cultivating a narcotic plant and possess cannabis.

A 29-year-old Corio man has been charged with similar offences following an operation into firearm prohibition order compliance and the execution of a warrant at a Remington Street address about 11am.

The alleged offenders will appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court later today.
